On December 1st, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the “The Public Draft List of 2017 National and Local Joint Engineering Research Centers”, and Surfilter's “National Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Cyberspace Governance Technology” was successfully shortlisted. Surfilter was approved for the national-level innovation platform for network security technology once again after the "National Engineering Laboratory for Information Security Technology” was certified by the National Development and Reform Commission.

The National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center is an important component of the national innovation platforms. Since the first certification in 2009, 405 units have been certified across the country, of which only 15 are from Shenzhen.

National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center

The National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center is a research and development entity established based on enterprises, converted scientific research institutions, research institutes and universities. It is an important move taken by the National Development and Reform Commission to further strengthen the innovation capacity of regional industries, accelerate the transformation of the economic development model and structural adjustment, and promote integration with the national science and technology innovation system.

Surfilter’s National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Cyberspace Governance Technology

To focus on dissemination of illegal and harmful information and proliferation of cyberattacks in the development of cyberspace governance and meet the urgent need of cyberspace governance supporting technologies, Surfilter’s National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Cyberspace Governance Technology has built five research and verification platforms—"social online opinion analysis and guidance, multi-type wireless network positioning and comprehensive analysis, network security confrontation and threat detection, massive network audio and video information, and large-scale network simulation and emulation". It is conducting research on basic theories and key technologies in cyberspace governance and making breakthroughs in key technologies in information security governance, network security governance, and cybercrime regulation to satisfy the needs of improving industrial innovation capability and promoting regional economic development.

There is no national security without network security. Facing the severe challenges of cyberspace threats, Surfilter will continue to explore and seek innovation and make unremitting efforts to protect cyberspace security by providing soft power for network security and take a stand for the national network security strategy.
